How to find out if a garment should stay in your closet?

As you know, I'k currently editing my closet (read parts 1 a minimal closet and ii, sorting your cupboard, of my closet editing series). I'm pleased to say that I have already given many garments up for donation. My once huge pile of t-shirts, has been shrunk tremendously and many clothes that but did non conform my mode anymore have been disposed of equally well.

But, there is notwithstanding work to be washed. There are many items that I clothing very seldom, partly due to the fact that I have become a more dressy and less coincidental dresser. All the same, there are many situations for which my casual clothes would be very suitable. The question is how much to keep and what should be given upwards?

Fine tuning your editing

For case, I have a lot of casual article of clothing that I don't wear and then oftentimes anymore. My large pile of t-shirts was a adept instance of that. Only I also own slacks, amorphous jeans and very coincidental skirts that I hardly e'er article of clothing. Still, khaki jeans tin can be handy when y'all go for a walk in the bush-league and other casual clothes are useful when you lot exit for a quick school run to pick upwardly your kid.

Today, I needed to do just that. A perfect occassion to wearable something coincidental and to pick some dress that I do not REALLY similar anymore, just kept for casual situations like this. It's a great time to 'test' if those clothes should still be in your closet.

And so that is exactly what I did. I wore some of my question mark garments and tested out how I felt. This was the perfect occasion to habiliment clothes like that, and if I did not feel fabulous in them for the occassion for which I had kept them, so it would be fourth dimension to allow them go besides.

And that is exactly what happened. I wore them, realised I was in casual fashion, but did not like the feeling of wearing these particular casual clothes at all. That is the surest sign that these dress no longer a good fit for your closet and style. Remember, you only desire to have garments in there that you lot love and make you FEEL GOOD nigh yourself.

Fine tuning your style

This procedure can also help yous to fine-tune your way. From the above test I tin can draw certain conclusions:

  • I don't like to dress too coincidental, even in casual situations
  • My coincidental dress need to have cleaner lines and be less amorphous
  • I don't like to wear any tight standard t-shirts anymore fifty-fifty if they have a nice color and a fabulous print (I was wearing one of the t-shirts that nevertheless made the cut)

If you repeat this procedure a few times, you will quickly go some interesting new insights about your way and how information technology has evolved and your cupboard will become more manageable.

Conclusion

I feel that this is the perfect final test to find out if clothes should stay or become. Make sure to article of clothing your quenstion mark items on the perfect occasion for which y'all kept them and if they don't perform and brand you feel good, they are OUT.

What is your opinion on this? Does it seem like a reasonable test to you?
